S mother purchased this car for a practical commuter with stylish looks and to run errands around town in. After a couple years she decided to pass it down to her daughter who drove it and enjoyed it, and once she had her chance to enjoy the car, it ultimately ended up in the hands of the current owner who was son to the original owner and brother of the second. Since he took possession of this car all of those years ago, he has made some pretty radical changes. Back in 1990 the car underwent a complete restoration where any panels that had blemishes were replaced with nos metal and was repainted the stock original cortez gold. All of the suspension components were replaced and tubular upper controls arms were put on. The bushings were all gone through and the steering box was replaced as well. 1975 nova spindles were put on the front with disc brakes. Out back, the 12 bolt rear end was fitted with 3. 90 gears and c-clip eliminators. A heavy duty drive shaft ties the rear end to the built up turbo 400 transmission that is equipped with a 3800 stall dynamic converter. The engine is a 455cid v8 with 12:1 compression running on 110 octane fuel. Standard heads converted to stage one heads and roller rockers. Sitting on top is a sp1 intake and a race demon 1000cfm carburetor. An aeromotive fuel tank and electric fuel pump quenches the thirst of this big block and also comes equipped with a barry grant recirculating fuel system. This skylark is ready to hit the streets and take people by surprise or lay down some serious times at the track.

It is straight, panels fit tight. Even jambs, under trunk lid are glossy smooth. I know paint jobs of this quality cost $13,000 with a good body. Stainless trim was polished. Emblems, bumpers, headlight bezels, mirrors, chrome on front of hood was replaced. The buick mags were bought new and a nice set of white letter tires. New weatherstrips even on the convertible. Black top and boot were replaced. Interior had the upholstery, door panels, dash pad, armrests, handles and carpet replaced. She paid $350 for the factory am-fm to be rebuilt. There is even quartz movement in the clock. Exceptionally clean convertible with really slick red paint. #s match motor, trans and factory red car. This body and paint is as good as the get. Motor compartment is cleaned and painted. Trunk is painted, has jack, spare and liner. Under this car is rock solid, cleaned and painted. Custom dual exhaust.
