1978 gold pontiac trans am (y88) special edition. Excellent condition inside/out, very well maintained and always garaged. All original equipment except for edelbrock intake manifold and custom dual exhaust. 403 cu in v8, serviced with mobil 1 oil from first oil change. Auto trans, factory air, posi-trac, t-tops, power locks and windows, tilt steering column, power steering, honeycomb wheels. All emblems and decals are original though with some minor fade. Sound system is "clean install and awesome!" have original dealer equipment/accessories list and vehicle build sheet. This is a totally smoke free t/a. Engine,transmission, suspension, interior, are excellent. Brakes (less than 800 miles usage). Exterior paint has minor scratches. This t/a has placed 2nd. Twice at pontiac/firebird shows, starts and drive like new with exhaust notes that are prominent and exciting. It turn heads whenever i drive it on a sunny day! It is a "hard sell" for me as it's my baby and a keeper. Note: original intake manifold and some miscellaneous parts goes with the t/a. Power Locks

Pontiac achieved this additional horsepower by beefing up the 4-barrel carburetor, adding a cam with 20 more degrees of duration, a new low restriction dual resonator exhaust system, and adding an air cleaner with a larger snorkel. The W72 Performance Package was an engine option on the base 6.6 Liter 400 CID engine that provided an additional 20 horsepower over the stock engine and was labeled as the 'T/A 6.6'.
