1979 fiat 124 spider 2000silver / black leatherfuel-injected 2. 0l inline-4recent paintvin: 124cs20147402evolve motors and chicago car club are pleased to present this 1979 fiat 124 2000 spider! What we know:the car belonged to a local gentleman who was a bit of a fiat nut. He had owned the car for three years, and during that time had put quite a bit of work into restoring it to his tastes. While the car was originally red, he told us he had already owned a handful of red spiders so he had this car painted silver. The paint work was done two years ago, in addition to a significant amount of metal work. Rust in the floors and rockers was repaired, and an undercoating applied. The previous owner’s focus was largely cosmetic, as he drove the car very little. When we got to his garage, we were told the car hadn’t been driven in close to a year. We put a battery pack on it, and it started right up without hesitation. We even drove the car home. That was about a month ago. Since then, we’ve refreshed the brakes and gotten the car into running and driving order. Exterior:the car was painted silver two years ago, and the finish is quite nice. Paint shines bright and looks great against the black leather interior, though there are a few light scratches on the hood where it looks like a box or something may have been sitting on the hood then slid off. Red paint, the car’s original color, is visible inside the trunk and on the door hinges inside the door jamb. The body is in excellent shape. Aside from an extremely light door ding on the passenger rear quarter, the body is free of any damage whatsoever. The convertible top has a fairly large tear in it, but this is a top-down, sunny day type of car anyway. We do have a set of bumpers for the car, but they are fairly corroded. We much prefer the look of these cars with the bumper-delete. Interior:black leather seats are in very nice shape, both front and rear. Dash has a few cracks in the center. Gauges are all functional and present nicely. Fiat branded shift knob feels nice and looks great alongside the big wooden wheel. Center console is in rough shape. Power windows, lights, and signals are all functional. Odometer reads 64,215 though we cannot be sure that is true. Underneath:the car’s 1995cc fuel-injected 4-cylinder runs very, very well. It will happily idle cool all day. While it’s only rated at 82hp, that is more than sufficient, as the car only weighs 2200lbs. It runs and drives nicely, though it does take a little bit of finessing to really squeeze the performance out of it, as one would expect from a vintage italian car. Underneath, the car looks very nice. These cars were plagued with rust problems and luckily, that has already been addressed with this car. While the wheels could use a refinishing, this is one sharp looking, fun-to-drive car. This would make the perfect car for anyone who is looking for an interesting, low-budget, stylish summer cruiser. With any questions, reach out to jake at 773-267-2684. Power Windows✔ Leather Seats
